One of my patients introduced me to this drink. Irresistible!!!
This is my new “winter” version of the green smoothie.
Grind 1-2 turmeric
1 cup of coconut/*almond milk ( taste better with almond milk)
1 tbsp of honey or *jaggery
1/2 tsp vanilla extract ( optional )
A few sprinkles of nutmeg
1/2 of cinnamon stick
Boil in the pot at low temp for 10-15 mins. Run through the strainer once cool and enjoy.
* Almond Milk – avoid the product contains Carrageenan – toxic chemical.
* Jaggery – this is the sweetener. Check it out here if you do not know what it is. It has sweet like cane sugar but has so much great health benefits. Purchase at the local Indian store.
